Imelda Mutiso is a CPA and tax–legal strategist with 14+ years leading high-stakes tax matters across advisory, industry, and litigation. She began in external audit at KPMG Kenya, then joined PwC Kenya where she rose to Senior Manager, Tax Controversy & Dispute Resolution, advising on complex audits, rulings, and negotiations. She later served as Group Head of Tax at East African Breweries PLC (Diageo’s largest African unit), overseeing groupwide policy, risk, and compliance. Imelda now leads I.N. Mutiso & Company Advocates, a Nairobi boutique focused on tax advisory and disputes. She holds LL.B and LL.M degrees (University of Nairobi) and an ADIT from the Chartered Institute of Taxation (London). A CPA-K and Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, she is affiliated with the Institute of Certified Secretaries and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and serves on the High Court Commercial & Tax Division Bar–Bench Committee.
